Interested in having your music broadcast on Guitar Radio? We hope so. Below are some guidelines to consider before contacting us regarding music submission.

Royalty-free. This means we will not broadcast "cover songs" since the performance rights to the composition is not owned by you (and you, therefore, cannot grant us the permission to broadcast the music royalty-free). The music must be original material with respect to both composition and performance (cannot contain samples of someone else's copyrighted material). You will not be asked to waive or transfer any copyrights, you must simply be the legal owner of all composition and performance rights to the music you submit and agree that we may broadcast the music royalty-free.

Content. As Modern Guitars is a guitar-oriented publication, please submit music that prominently features the guitar. Your song does not have to be an instrumental.

Format. Guitar Radio plays MP3 files that have a broadcast rate of 64,000 Kbps (also referred to simply as 64 Kbps) and a sample rate of 44,100 Hz (also referred to simply as 44 Hz). We can downsample files that have a broadcast rate (bit rate) higher than 64 Kbps, but cannot upsample MP3s that have an audio sample rate lower than 44 Hz.

Duration. Your MP3 must have a play length shorter than seven minutes.

Supporting information. Please send the information you want to appear in the playlist when you submit your MP3. In addition to song title and the name of the performer(s), include other information such as what equipment (especially guitars and amps) was used in the performance, how it was recorded, contact information (email address only) and website link.

Number of submissions. The maximum number of MP3s we will play by the same artist or group is two.
