A Psychedelic Hello  (April 29, 2007)

I'm currently busy working with Fender and Jackson on several projects. The biggest of which is Fender Custom Shop's current limited edition of 100 Psychedelic Guitars. Every guitar comes with a DVD interview.

The designs have been created in the 10 groups listed below. The guitars within each group vary in color and some key elements vary, making each guitar unique. The only part that isn't painted is the pickguard.

Wherever possible, finished guitar are shown here with the hardware added with Photoshop. All others are Photoshop sketches made in preparation for the painting of the guitars.

I receive the guitars as separate bodies and necks which have been painted, cleared and color sanded. All my work is done using water-based paints. I use both Auto Air enamels and Liquitex acrylics. I also use a combination of air brush and paintbrush. Most of the Psychedelics are painted solely with paintbrushes. I temporarily join the necks to the bodies for a smooth flow of the artwork. After my work is done, I return the bodies and necks to the Fender Custom Shop for the final clearcoat and assembly.

I continually post work as soon as it's done in my 2007 section http://www.pamelina.com/pamelina_134.htm which has links to the work done each month. I encourage you to visit often as there are usually many projects being worked on at any given time. I also do book cover and magazine illustrations, drums, portraits and more. You never know what you're going to find. One thing for sure is, it'll be colorful!

I also sell my own line of prints and fine art, gift items such as painted mini-guitars and t-shirts.

Or, just stop by and say hello. I enjoy hearing from people who are interested in art, learning about art or who own something that I've painted.
