Art and Guitar Show on July 1st  (June 23, 2005)

Okay everybody, if you happen to be in Grants Pass, Oregon, on July 1st, I'm having an Artist Reception at Listen Here CDs from 6 pm to 9 pm, for our "First Friday Art Night". I'm showing some of my latest art furniture pieces as well as some of my past guitar designs for the Custom Shop.

Here's the invitation cover... hope you can make it! The address is 234 SW 6th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon. Tell 'em John sent 'ya!

So, it's 1:30ish in the morning. I'm in my studio/shop working on a new piece, "Woman is the Machine". All of a sudden I hear a noise outside... it sounds like it might be raining. I think nothing of it. I hear it again... and again... and again, but only from one side of the studio. So, I open the East studio door into the blackness of the night. No rain... just quiet. Out of the darkness, a moth, the size of a small bird, lands on my chest. It is about 5-6 inches in wing span... and it inspires the rest of my creative evening (I of course let it go after our "photo session"). I just had to share this, because there are so few true gifts in this world... and this was definitely one of them!
