Hey… it's been over a month since I did a journal entry. I've been buried with some commission art pieces that I had to get done. As it was, they were a couple of weeks late… oh well, it happens.

I shipped this piece yesterday. It's got kind of a "retro-future" look.

It's weird, all the years I was at Fender, I tried to design guitars that had a “uniquely familiar� look, which I kind of think of as "retro-future". I had to, that's what people wanted from us. Now, with my art, I strive for the same thing. I've just ordered some more of the 10/4 birdseye maple stock that I used on the legs, so I can make some more, 'cause I really like this piece.

By the way, you might be interested to know that I still buy my maple from the same guys I bought it from when I was running the Custom Shop. Yep, same guys… same maple… I used in the CS guitars. I don't know if the CS still buys from these guys, but they're great… and I'm glad that they still deal with me as a “little guy�. That says a lot about them to me.
