I just finished the woodworking on the first proto of “Table 351”. I'm really happy with it. Here's a shot of the table (obviously before color and finish).

Today I sprayed the finish on the legs and bases. Here's the painted flame maple legs:




Tonight I mixed special dyes and stained the tops. They'll get clear-coat tomorrow. John Suhr turned me on to these really cool dyes, they're called Orasol Dyes and they're made from natural pigments. They hold their color wonderfully and are extremely vibrant. I mixed a sea blue and a lime green. The pieces turned out pretty cool.

I'm pretty stoked about these pieces, they feel very reminiscent of guitar building. I'll show pics of the finished table when they're done.
