Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith  (May 23, 2005)

Bloody hell. What a SPECTACULAR film! George Lucas is BACK! Forget Arnold and Leonardo DiCaprio...Goerge IS the fucking King of the World! He dropped the hammer, slammed his foot to the floor, and tore off into the future at warp speed!

I was blown away by the sheer, mind-numbing panorama of this movie which brings the whole series full-circle. It's an incredible display of what humans can now do and how far we have come in such a short time in creating digital images that are uttery real and convincing. I mean, they are BULLETPROOF.

George assembled just a truly awesome group of frighteningly talented people to create such a mouth-dropping experience...I simply could not beliueve what I was seeing. There is SO MUCH production value in this one film...every scene is loaded to the gillseverywhere you look and every detail is lovingly covered. The sound and the music are matchless. I simply cannot say enough about this film.

What really struck me was the sheer amount of superb design and creative thought that went into this masterpiece.

I saw this fabulous movie with my son at the Esher Odeon (Esher, Surrey)Sunday night....what, two days after it was released? And the cinema was EMPTY! Great for us, but I couldn'tunderstand why. I expected the place to be heaving. They didn't flinch on the sound volume, either, for a converted multiplex...it was cranked right up and perfect.

Were there any weaknesses in the film?

No. If pushed, as usual, I found George's direction of the principals just slightly weak compared to all his other stunning abilities...but I'm really being picky in saying this. Two actors stand out: Ian McDiarmid and Natalie Portman...both very strong. But of course, George has never found another Harrison Ford, who walked away with the first three movies.

If you haven't, go see this film and enjoy yourself. It's as much of a leap forward in film-making as Sergeant Pepper was in record-making.
