Billy Morrison with zombie makeup for the film Evilution

Billy Morrison, reporting for duty SAH!!! Checking in with the Modern Guitar tribe and letting you all know about a few things happening in my world over the coming months. And (completely non music or guitar related!), the first thing is that this weekend, I am appearing at the Fangoria Horror Convention at the LA Convention Center. It seems that I will be appearing on the Black Gate Films Panel (I have no idea what a panel is, but I’m on one!!) at 3.30 p.m. this Friday 25th May. Entry to the Convention for the day is $25 and the place is a nirvana for all Horror fans!! Plenty to see and do all day, films to be seen, blood to be spilt etc!! And the first screening of my last movie, Basement Jack happens the next day (Saturday) at 6.00 p.m., so if you wanna see yet another musician running around on screen trying to act, you know where to go!! Check out the pic of me in full zombie make up from my previous flick, Evilution!! CLICK HERE FOR FANGORIA DETAILS.

Immediately after the fake blood and prosthetic limbs of Fangoria, I go into a couple of days rehearsal with Camp Freddy for our residency at The Roxy in Los Angeles. As previously stated, we are doing five shows (every Thursday in May) with different sets and guests each week. The set lists are looking really cool and we have some amazing friends set to get up and jam with us. So if you are going to be in LA at anytime during May, and you like your rock and roll, here are the links to get the tickets. Needless to say they are going fast so I would advise grabbing yours soon if you intend to come. More guitars on one stage than Lynyrd Skynyrd (well, maybe….) – and the last link is for the hardcore amongst you all…a VIP package that gets you in to all five shows, as well as a private soundcheck on May 22nd, with a meet and great, photos, signing, tee shirt etc.

So that’s what’s going on in my world for the next few weeks. I have a ton of guitars lined up for these shows cos I wanna have alternate tunings set up and ready to go in case we have guests that wanna be a half step or a whole step down. My favorite Drop D tuning will also be present. I’m feeling two main Les Pauls for concert tuning (one main and one spare) – then one more Les Paul in a Drop D tuning, and a couple of PRS 22’s for the half step and whole step alternates. I’ll see if I can remember to shoot some video at a soundcheck for all you tech heads and show you the rig and the pedals and the guitars etc.

In amongst all the live action, I also have a couple of DJ gigs lined up, but for all that kind of info, just go to my site – www.billymorrison.net - or the ubiquitous MySpace profile – www.myspace.com/billymorrisonmusic - and come join in the fun. The album that was just released – STIMULATOR – is available on I-Tunes worldwide, and the Circus Diablo album is also available from I-Tunes and all good retail stores. The slightly overweight female singer is warming up, so that will be my cue to get outta...
