Billy filming Evilution

Billy filming Evilution

My life is very bizarre! In the last few weeks, we have begun gearing up for the summer touring, July 3rd album release and all the other various Circus Diablo activities…..interviewed Marco Pirroni from Adam And The Ants for this very site, begun shooting my second movie, called Evilution (in fact I am typing this from the set, covered in fake blood and waiting to be called on to set again), continued to do the weekly Camp Freddy Radio show …….. I mean I couldn’t have written all this if I had tried!! Check out the pics from the movie set – hmmmm, now what if I go onstage like that every night?? Think we’d go down well on the Ozzfest???!!!! It’s a real laugh doing a horror film, because its all fake blood and splatter effects. Next week I shoot some seriously grizzly scenes in the basement of the set (an old abandoned hospital and VERY creepy!) so I am looking forward to that!

The Circus Diablo album seems to be getting received well and the first single, LOADED, goes to radio this week, so it’s basically a case of “Here we GO!!!” I have been doing a fair amount of press and phone interviews the last few weeks, and hopefully we will be able to get out on the road over the summer on the Ozzfest and our own shows and get to see some of you out there. The dates are on both the bands website - www.circusdiablo.com - and the MySpace profile over at www.myspace.com/circusdiablo so check it out and if we are near you, come on over and say hello. Rob Patterson (ex Korn) will be touring with us while Billy Duffy is involved with the new Cult record (huge congrats due to Ian and Billy!!) and we have been getting the set sounding hard and tight in rehearsals. LOTS of guitar and lots of volume. Just how we like it.

I have been thinking recently (always a dangerous pursuit for me!!) about how playing guitar has become a very cathartic and sometimes spiritual thing for me. Not that I go to another plane or anything when I play….. more like it just helps me relax after all the different stuff that I do every day. I tend to grab one of the guitars lying around our place when I am waiting for a computer to finish doing something. Or when the movie I am watching starts to drag. Or when I am waiting for my wife to finish getting ready. The point I am making here is that I sometimes forget that playing guitar is a DAILY part of my life. Its become something that I reach for unconsciously and I LOVE that!! Its not just when we play, or when we write songs ….. it’s a true part of my life.

And that’s all I really have for you guys. I want to congratulate Modern Guitars for continually pushing the envelope and becoming the number one resource for guitarists on the web. I am proud to be a part of it, and thank the guys for letting me do my thing. Hopefully it’s a fun read for you lot, and if its not …… well, go read something else instead!!! Have a great week everyone.

Peace

Billy
