Album Release Date...Ozzfest...More (May 6, 2007)
Now I am really pushing it! Two column entries in a month…..I must be getting serious about this thing! And first of all, I have to congratulate the folks here at Modern Guitars for becoming a force to be reckoned with here on the marvelous World Wide Web - Modern Guitars was recently ranked the second most popular online guitar magazine by Alexa! I am actually involved in an idea with these guys that’s very exciting – I am going to interview a few of my own Guitar Heros and Icons, and record the interviews exclusively for Modern Guitars. My list of victims is an interesting one, with a couple of obvious choices and a couple of less obvious ones. The first interview is scheduled for next week, so once it's done and we know it's gonna actually appear on the site I’ll tell you who it was, and when to expect to see the interview here. I am neck deep in all things Circus Diablo – having signed to Koch Entertainment and been given a release date of July 3rd for the album, things have really started to heat up. Artwork to complete, websites to update, LOTS of dates and touring plans, radio to do, press to do ... it's all great fun, and I am so blessed to be doing all of this shit – and we cannot wait to get out there this summer. We are doing all the Ozzfest shows, and have a bunch of other dates scheduled as well. For a full list of everything, go to www.circusdiablo.com or even www.ozzfest.com and all will become crystal clear. We are also going to do a couple of acoustic things in the next few weeks – an appearance at the Gibson Guitars Green event in Beverly Hills (more about this one in the next entry) and then an acoustic performance on the new Internet TV show called SPREAD ENTERTAINMENT, which is the brainchild of my bro, Dave Navarro. Always at the cutting edge, I am proud to host Camp Freddy Radio with the guy each week, and look forward to being a part of his new endeavor.
The movie is fast approaching – two weeks before we start shooting – and I REALLY need to read the script! I mean, it's not like I am an actor or anything! I should sit down and figure it all out – but I am VERY excited to be doing this. I get to kill people, and spend three weeks of my life pretending to be someone else (I KNOW that’s what I have spent my life doing!) – how much fun is THAT! I’ll make sure to post a few pics from the set, although any regular readers (I must have at least four of those?) will remember the ‘Pigs Head’ picture from the last movie…..not an attractive image! Lets see what this horror movie does for my looks, shall we?…..
I haven’t got much to report, but I wanted to show some solidarity and commitment to the Modern Guitars website, and figured I would pop off a quick entry while the coffee is still working! Trust me, once we get on that bus, I will give you tech heads all the inside info on our gear, and everyone else's as well on the Ozzfest! Backstage info, pics of all those juicy FX racks and vintage heads. I’ll see if Zakk will show me around his rig for you ... but trust me, I will be asking nicely! That guy is huge! But what a monster player...I loved watching him play last year in Black Label Society and with Ozzy, so this year I will be back there again. Awesome. That’s it from me tonight. Have fun, stay safe, and keep your eye on this site 'cos my interviews with those guitarists are coming your way VERY soon. Peace Billy |
