Everyday Demons

Everyday Demons

The long-awaited second complete studio CD from The Answer, entitled Everyday Demons, will be released on March 31, 2009, in the United States, and on other dates worldwide. This collection of 11 hard rockin' tracks, to be released in four formats, is just what the doctor ordered for fans of the heavy style we often think went out with the '70s. The hard rockin' Irish quartet is in good form here, too, and their mood is one of enthusiasm, excitement, and rowdy adventurism throughout. The powerful vocal aptitude of Cormac Neeson, whose style is often reminiscent of Robert Plant's high-pitched wail, Paul Rogers' simplistic aptness, and Freddie Mercury's rocking attitude, wields stridently amid Paul Mahon's hard-driving guitar thunder. It's all coerced along by the powerful rhythm section of bassist Mickey Waters and drummer James Heatley.

Listen to "Demon Eyes" from Everyday Demons

* * *

The adrenaline rush starts with the punk/metal infused opener, "Demon Eyes," and continues right through everything that follows. "Why'd You Change Your Mind" starts out mellow and proceeds into a thunderous Zeppelin-like chorus, complete with potent riffs and soaring lead lines from Mahon. "Tonight" has the potential to emerge as a worldwide pop-rock hit, that is if it's lucky enough to garner adequate radio airplay. Let's hope for the best. "Dead Of The Night" is kickass in every way, a virtual thrill ride from beginning to end. "Comfort Zone" is a pleasant surprise, as its fresh melody and arrangement has a Scott Wieland and STP vibe to it, especially noticeable in the intro guitar and within the verse lines. One thing for certain is that Everyday Demons is consistent rock 'n' roll. The CD, as a whole, is consistent in rock 'n' roll quality as well.

The Answer is a breath of fresh air, and they're truly the real deal. In a world where modern rock bands have a tendency to stand out like plastic poseurs, The Answer is barnstorming along in an authentic rock stratum. As if predestined, these Irish lads play like they've been doing it since the heyday of rock, and they take it serious. If you liked "Rise," the first Answer release, you'll love this one because it's even better. Get a hold of Everyday Demons and get ready to rock, because finally, for the first time in years, we've got an album that defines rock music the way it's supposed to be played.

Everyday Demons was produce by John Travis (Social Distortion, Kid Rock, Buck Cherry, Monster Magnet), and mixed by Tim Palmer (Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam, The Cure) and Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Cult, Van Halen).
