January finished with a bang, as Daisy Rock took the 2009 NAMM show by storm. New models, such as the Rock Candy Classic in a new White Lightening finish dazzled many and became a show-stopping favorite, and our new high-end acoustics, the Wildwood Artist Deluxe and the Zebra Butterfly Acoustic/Electric, impressed many show attendees with their quality sound and glitzy appearance. Now we can show the boys that we can rock just as hard as them, but in style.

This year we added a twist with our partner company Alfred Publishing, by adding a product demo stage to our booths and inviting endorsees to stop by and show off their favorite riffs. Check out the clip below from Daisy Rock Artists The Bangles, who drew such a crowd that it surrounded the entire Daisy Rock booth for over two hours at NAMM. They totally rocked and it was definitely the highlight of the 2009 NAMM show.

We also celebrated Susanna Hoffs and Vicki Peterson’s recent birthdays by surprising them with cake after their performance, and letting fans join in too by passing out tasty treats. Music and food = killer combination.

Gene Simmons even stopped by, about 15 minutes after the show opened on the first day. Gene went straight for the Cotton Candy Blue Debutante Junior Miss Acoustic guitar, took it off the wall, and serenaded me for the next 10 minutes. Now that’s the stuff that happens at NAMM that you just can’t predict.

Of course we want to thank all of our superstar artists for a terrific job in their product demonstrations: Nikki O’Neill taught onlookers all about Daisy Rock Guitars through different musical styles and techniques, Janet Robin rocked out with Vivi Rama, Ruthie Bram showed off the Rebel Rockit with her super glam blues and outfit, Julia Jordan made us imagine peace and harmony, Absinthe were like rock goddesses from the underworld with their heavy demo time, Annie Clements played a super star demo set with dad Cranston Clements and my favorite drummer John Cowsill, and The Raymies drew fans of all ages with their uplifting attitude and fun-loving rock songs.

Some of our artists even performed throughout the NAMM show for all show attendees to see! Check out this video from the youngest all-girl band G Force Revue, who range in age from 7-11, and came all the way from Ohio to perform. They had an autograph line after their performance that blocked the stage, and enough energy and spirit to keep fans smiling the entire time.

This month, we have been working day and night on planning the 5th Annual Daisy Rock Showcase and Charity Event: Pretty In Punk – a Tribute to The Runaways! All proceeds from the night will be donated to our charity of choice, the Tianna Teegarden Memorial Fund, and all artists will perform their favorites Runaways song selection. The line-up will include The Bangles, Whispertown 2000, Amy Kuney, Karmina, Paris Carney, 5 o’clock Shakedown, and my band sASSafrASS, with a special guest collaboration from Cherie Currie of The Runaways.

There will be giveaways from Venus Zine, Daisy Rock, MAC, Pinky Star, and more. It’s definitely going to be the best Pretty In Punk event we’ve ever done! You can buy tickets now at www.daisyrock.com/prettyinpunk, so make sure to join us for the event on Friday March 13th at The Roxy in Los Angeles, CA, and celebrate the girl rock revolution!

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come! My band, sASSafrASS w/Daisy Rock Artist Janet Robin [interview], performing the classic Runaways tune “Cherry Bomb.”

Until next time – keep rockin’!
