New Daisy Rockers!  (April 23, 2006)

Hi everyone! It’s been too long since I’ve reached out to all of you, and I hope you’ve been spending your time well. Did you pick up your guitar and join that band yet?

In the meantime, we’ve had our hands full here at Daisy Rock working on our new models for 2006! It’s funny how the guitar market is almost like a living thing, constantly changing and evolving each year.

There’s no time to rest on your laurels; when you’ve finished one idea, your competitors are only a few steps behind you, offering their own version of what you’ve done. For Daisy Rock, the best way we’ve found to address that is by constantly pushing ourselves to be even more imaginative and innovative, and striving to offer female musicians instruments that truly cater to their needs as players and performers.

We know how important it is to look and sound amazing every time you pick up your guitar. We also know how hard it is to stand out in a crowd filled with your closest competitors.

We’re proud to say that this year we’ve got over dozen new ways for you to strap on a guitar and get the attention of everyone in the room! Our 2006 models debuted at the Winter NAMM show this past January, and even we were surprised by the reactions we got. From write-ups in magazines and newspapers to being featured on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown, Daisy Rock’s newest models got noticed and we can’t wait to get them into your hands.

We started with a simple addition to one of our most versatile guitars, the Tom Boy. Introduced in 2005 with a beautiful maple fingerboard, we wanted to add a new rosewood fingerboard, offering a slightly different tone and a lovely new face to the guitar. Like the 2005 Tom Boy, the 2006 version still gives you the option of using one or both of the Duncan Designed pick-ups, an Alnico Stacked Single-Coil and a Humbucker.

And for those of you who have been asking about a black Daisy Rock Guitar, we’ve got something incredibly great looking and great sounding for you. Our new Rock Candy Custom and Rock Candy Custom Special Guitars in Matte Black (with a hot Pink Star!) are the dark extensions of our very successful Rock Candy series. Both guitars have Grover tuners, humbucker pickups and push-pull tone controls to tap the humbuckers; the Rock Candy Custom Special is slightly upgraded, with a set-neck, Duncan Designed Detonator Humbuckers and a TonePros bridge. This guitar’s sound cuts through, even on the noisiest stages.

We’ve also made two more additions to the Rock Candy series – the Rainbow Sparkle and Power Pink finishes. Our Rainbow Sparkle is so eye-catching we had people coming from across the room just to stand in front of the guitar and stare at it for long periods of time…the finish is truly dazzling. And our Power Pink Rock Candy is so sweet you’d think it was made of a giant piece of soft, chewy bubble gum.

Our Stardust series also got treated to some beautiful new finishes. The semi-hollow body Stardust Retro-H is now available in two more finishes, Luau and Candy Cane. The Luau just makes you want to play at the beach – it’s as pretty as a sarong, and gets an amazing tone, perfect for that classic surf rock sound. And the Candy Cane has a pretty pink swirl design, giving this guitar a soft, feminine appearance…until you hit your first chord!

For those of you who want a simple, straightforward and rocking guitar, we’ve got the new Stardust Elite Petite Rebel and Rebel guitars. Both the guitars come in a bubble-gum finish called Sheena Pink. The Petite Rebel is a cool little short scale guitar with a Daisy Rock Vintage Soapbar pickup – it’s just a little tougher, with a bit more bite than her Daisy, Butterfly and Heartbreaker Daisy Rock sisters. And the full-scale Elite Rebel has a Duncan Designed P-90, one of the crunchiest (and most sought-after) pickups on the market right now. People are buying P-90 pickups to switch them out on some very expensive guitars, and this guitar has got it for hardly more than the cost of the pickup alone.

Our last addition to the Stardust series is the Stardust Elite Custom available in Groovy Swirl and Blue Kaleidoscope finishes. These are very psychedelic-looking guitars, reminiscent of the ‘60s and ‘70s, and they offer the same sound and quality as their Violet Burst and Crimson Burst counterparts, with set-necks and Daisy Rock High Output Humbuckers. These actually seemed to be favored by the boys, especially the Blue Kaleidoscope.

2005’s very successful Wildwood Series also got expanded this year with the new Purple Daze Wildwood Acoustic. Like the Bleach Blonde and Pink Burst Wildwood Acoustics, the Purple Daze is a ¾ scale acoustic guitar that’s as light as a feather and so much fun to play it’s hard to put down. It gets a great tone and your fingers will glide over the fingerboard. It’s a beautiful new addition to a really great family of guitars.

And for all the bass players out there, we’ve got two new basses that you will fall in love with. The new Rock Candy Special Basses feature a neck-thru body design that gives you great tone and sustain. The thin neck is easy to get around and the Select by EMG pickups give this bass a bright, punchy tone. And now you have the option of getting either a 4- or 5-string Daisy Rock bass. For less than $650 (MSRP), you can get a beautiful professional quality 5-string bass in hot pink that won’t give you a back-ache! How’s that for girl power?

It seems hard to imagine how you can make a heart-shaped series of guitars and basses even more unique, but this year we’ve done it. We’ve added a new pink and lavender Cheetah print to our Heartbreaker series and the results are spectacular. Totally original-looking and far beyond what anyone else has imagined yet, the Cheetah Heartbreakers are available in short-scale, full-scale artist and bass versions. This is the kind of guitar you want to have before your friends get one first.

And our last addition is one of the most talked about new guitars this year – the Star Series of guitars and basses. If it’s true that you are what you wear, you must have this guitar. This is not a decal or a sticker; the guitar itself is shaped like a 5-pointed star and everyone who sees it stops to stare. We couldn’t be more pleased with the way this turned out and we know you’ll want one as soon as you set your eyes on it.

Has it ever been this much fun being a girl? Maybe only at the make-up counter. We hope we’ve given you some great new reasons to mess up your manicure. Until next time-

Tish
