More Mind Jam Photos and Info  (April 20, 2005)

Ok, so I got some paint on the wall with the plunger. No need to worry, Anna Bananas, I got it covered.

I finished this Sting Prescision bass with some abstract brush strokes in about 2 songs. Man, I painted my ass off till 2am.

I can't remember the band but here is a list of the Mind Jam performers along with an article that came out about the event in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Schedule of performances

4 p.m.: Opening ceremony

4:15 p.m.: Rebecca Heidelberg (spoken word)

4:30 p.m.: Jade Louie (Hawaiian/country- I think I was digging for my tape and new found paint brush.

5 p.m.: Akaloka (spoken word - I stoped painting to check this out.)

5:15 p.m.: Mary Godfrey (soul / folk)

5:30 p.m.: Jesus Basuel (writer / director / producer - I saw Jesus and met him then I painted white.)

5:45 p.m.: ralš (soul / punk)

6 p.m.: Manasseh Bernal (alt / folk)

6:15 p.m.: Max (hip-hop)

6:45 p.m. Scotty Rock -N- Roll (alt rock)

7 p.m.: Flightdog (hip-hop)

7:30 p.m.: Russell (blues)

7:45 p.m.: SladŽ (blues/alt country/folk/rock - I was inspired to paint once again a mandolla heart - see photo below.)

8:30 p.m.: Stephanie Dickinson

9 p.m.: Fleeting Trance (alt everything)

10 p.m.: Kapilina Fire Dance (I was painting inside to the music running over to the window in between brush strokes to check out the fire dance.)

10:30 p.m.: Sea (hip-hop theater and spoken word - this was all so amazing I stoped to check out the chicks and listen.)

11 p.m.: The Overtones (intonation reggae and pop)

12 a.m.: HawaiiSlam Poets (spoken word)

12:30 a.m.: Technologist PHD (hip-hop - I think this is when I painted some reggae colors and the painting sold.)

1 a.m.: Lumenz (hip-hop)

1:30 a.m.: Turtle Magnet (audience inspired improv)

Note: Califonia-based artist Neal Barbosa will paint throughout the evening

Here are two more photos from the Mind Jam.

YES, IT WAS ONE FUN FILLED TRIP to Honolulu and I'm glad I could share part of the experience with y'all. Look for the next Earth Mother Mind Jam 17.

I've done a couple of shows since Hawaii that I'll be talking about in a day or two.

Peace...out.
