Earth Mother Mind Jam 15 (February 10, 2005) I got the ok to paint at the January 29th Earth Mother Mind Jam 15 on one of the stages all day and night. 50 bands were going to be there in Tempe, Arizona, at the Sail Inn. So I rented a car and picked up my buddy, Simador. We got there in 6 hours from L.A, pulled in, and I realized I forgot the paint I had bought for 70 bucks in LA and had to find an art store in Tempe, which wasn't hard to do in a collage town. Then we went inside to check out the club and stage space. I'd be painting on the outdoor stage. It was huge - plenty of room. Fast forrward: bla bla bigedy bla bla ... barito ... coffee ... chicks... bla bla bla ... then I came back and started to paint. [On the stage at the Earth Mother Mind Jam 15]
I can't remember all the bands, for a list check the Earth Mother Mind Jam link, however, I do remember something about Frog & Sexual Chocalate - that set got a little crazy. I would have taken a pic if I'd known I'd be writing a journal. Anyway, these chicks came on stage and began to paint with me as I was dancing and painting to the music. Then these other chicks got up and started painting on another painting I was working on - it was a painting of this chick I just met and we were talking about her tits and I told her I would paint a portrait of her with big tits - so I was painting her tits when these two chicks walked up and did hand prints on the tits i just painted. Then they got into it and before I knew it they had paint on each other and then they got paint on me then I got paint on her stomach ... anyway, it was a blast. This other chick came up while I was painting a portrait of an acoustic guitar and wanted to buy it so I let her collaborate on it with me while I watched her shake her ass. I realy wanted to paint on her naked body but held back. She asked if she could write somthing on the painting. I said go for it, then she wrote "he loved her and then he lost her". Then this chick in Sexual Chocolate came over and was shaking her ass at me so I used it as a canvass and painted on it. I think she liked it a lot. ["He loved her and then he lost her"]
A jazz band came on, before or after, I cant remember, and I was painting to the drum solo with paint brushes in both hands. I felt as if i was a drummer myself. At a few points there was poetry reading and I had just painted some trees, snow, and mountains - the timing was great because this person came up talking about what some people were trying to do to save some mountains with trees they were going to clear away from the snow boarding mountain. Then there was Boom Boom Bollywood, a dance group. I realy had to stop painting to watch them smear mud all over each other. Wow, talk about sexual chocolate. I took a break to enjoy the food booths with coffee, beer, and veggie burritos, oh no, it was a falafel. It was good. There were also a lot of hand-made things. This chick made me a beaded necklace. That's about all I can remember since I didn't take notes, other than Ralo, who put on the event and who was really cool. She did a set with her band and I had a chance to paint to their music as well. I got to hang out with Black Fire (www.blackfire.net) who performed that night and will be at the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood on February 9th I think.
