Gibson Introduces New Les Paul Standards with Faded Finish  (January 03, 2005)
Gibson Guitar has announced the new Les Paul Standard Faded model with their "worn" finish treatment, available for the first time in Gibson's traditional sunburst colors: Worn Cherry Sunburst, Worn Honeyburst and Worn Tobacco Burst. The new model is also the first in Gibson's Faded family to feature the maple top cap that has made the Les Paul famous. The Standard Faded has the aura of the classic Les Paul Standards 1958-60, thanks to a genuine hand-stained lacquer process and a satin finish that allows the wood to resonate and gives the neck a very natural feel. The model also features the Gibson Burstbucker Pro (zebra coil) Alnico humbucking pickups. The Les Paul Faded is available with rounded '50s or slim '60s neck profile and is also available left-handed. MSRP is $2,848.00 USD.

The acoustic division of Gibson Guitars has introduced a professional-quality acoustic guitar named The Gibson Traveling Songwriter. A small, thin acoustic, it includes a pickup and 4-band equalizer.
Martin Voted Best Acoustic Guitar  (December 27, 2004)
According to a company press release, C.F. Martin and Company won top honors from players who voted in the "Players' Choice" Awards sponsored by Acoustic Guitar Magazine. The official announcement will appear in the February, 2005, edition of the magazine.

According to Huber and Breese Music, the Fender Custom Shop will build a limited edition (50) Stratocaster painted by artist John "CRASH" Matos who painted Eric Clapton's famous Rainbow Strat. More info.

Epiphone To Offer Paul McCartney Texans  (November 12, 2004)
August 14, 1965. Paul McCartney performs "Yesterday" on the Ed Sullivan Show playing an Epiphone model FT-79N, better known as a "Texan". Epiphone now plans on offering three runs of Texans based upon McCartney's guitar: 40 hand-built Epiphone Texans built by Gibson in the U.S. under the supervision of McCartney, a further 250 that will mirror-image McCartney's (lefty guitars set up for right-handed players) and a third run of Texans (1,964) to be hand-crafted in Japan. GBMK Gives Prototype Guitar to Dishwalla  (November 11, 2004)
LONGWOOD, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 2004--Global Business Markets, Inc. (OTCBB:GBMK) today announced that the Company recently delivered a guitar to the rock band Dishwalla. Greg Reszel, the Company's designer, traveled to Aptos, California to hand deliver the guitar to the band Dishwalla, which was the headlining act for a musical event which raised money to keep music programs in the local school system.
