Giveaway: "Five Peace Band" CD by McLaughlin and Corea

by Staff.

Five Peace Band

Five Peace Band

Modern Guitars has three copies of the new live performance CD, Five Peace Band, from guitarist John McLaughlin and keyboardist Chick Corea (with a guest appearance by Herbie Hancock) to giveaway to lucky readers on June 30, 2009. McLaughlin and Corea have pioneered some of the best jazz over the course of several decades, including working with the legendary Miles Davis on his groundbreaking 1970 jazz-rock-funk classic Bitches Brew. Both have also explored jazz in their own projects, such as McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra and Corea's Return to Forever, making important contributions to the development of the contemporary jazz lexicon.

Their Five Peace Band CD offers listeners eight classy jazz pieces from the two visionary musicians, including: "Raju," "The Disguise," "New Blues, Old Bruise," "Hymn To Andromeda," Dr. Jackle," "Senor U.S.," "In A Silent Way/It's About That Time," and "Someday My Prince Will Come."
