Modern Guitars columnist Matt Baamonde recently announced the opening of his new business, Baazar Music Productions. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Baazar Music Productions offers professional musical services for any form of multimedia featuring real, live, trained musicians, currently attending or alumni of Berklee College of Music. Experienced composers are available to write customized jingles, commercial music for radio, television or Internet broadcast, film scores and original music.

"The best part is our services are offered to anyone, anywhere in the world, through Internet and telephone communication," said Baamonde.

Three years ago, Modern Guitars selected Matt Baamonde to serve as the first Berklee Experience (Berklee X) columnist. Baamonde was chosen based on his knowledge, abundant talents and enthusiasm for our favorite instrument. We were not only impressed by Baamonde’s guitar skills and composing talents, but also by his high level of journeyman discipline and willingness to take on new challenges with a strong sense of purpose and commitment.

As a high school student in Fairfax, Virginia, Matt founded his school’s first guitar club that grew quickly and helped ground young guitarists in music theory and the fundamentals of guitar playing. He has received national acclaim and some ink in the Washington Post, Guitar World magazine and a spot on Fox News. Matt's song "Amplifire" was included on the CD insert in the August 2006 issue of Guitar World magazine.

As a Modern Guitars journalist, Matt interviewed several major artists including Robbie Kreiger (The Doors), Robin Trower, Steve Lukather (Toto) and Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy). While studying at the Berklee College of Music, Matt formed a musical ensemble, wrote his Berklee X column and gathered up two Peter Kaleta Awards for Music Preparation (2008/2009) and the Berklee Achievement Scholarship (2008), as well as several other awards and honors.

Baazar Music Production has been selected to score the independent film "3:16 a.m." The production is written and directed by Cody Cage with GIFCO Multimedia and Rubicon Syndicate. Another deal is coming together with an Emmy-award winning production company that will involve writing scores for their ESPN television series.

Modern Guitars will soon select a Berklee College of Music student as an intern to take over the column for next year. Matt Baamonde will soon graduate from Berklee and has agreed to continue to write for Modern Guitars between gigs and while he builds his business. Modern Guitars congratulates Matt on his new start-up business and we wish him success with Baazar Music Productions.
