Chickenfoot Announce First North American Live Shows

In anticipation of the June 9, 2009, release of their self-titled debut album, Chickenfoot has announced a series of North American shows May 14 - May 29 in cities in the United States and Canada. The recently formed group consists of guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), bassist Michael Anthony (formerly with Van Halen) and frontman Sammy Hagar.

The formation of any supergroup leads to high expectations and Chickenfoot is no different. “We spent a lot of time together in the recording studio working long hours to make Chickenfoot live up to expectations,” says Satriani. “We really feel like we’ve mastered it and recorded a great album but now we’re especially excited to take the show on the road and see how the fans react to it live. I think we are really going to feed off of the fan’s energy. We’re really that type of band.”

Chickenfoot, produced by Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones) and mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica) is an 11-track album that will be released through major retailers and digitally on June 9. It will also be available for pre-sale through Best Buy starting April 19.
