Gibson Guitar Debuts Raw Power Series at Musikmesse 2009

Gibson Guitar unveiled its newest electric guitar line, the Raw Power Series, at the Musikmesse trade show in Frankfurt, Germany (April 1-4, 2009). The worldwide debut at Musikmesse features both Les Paul and SG style instruments that, according to Gibson, will hit the street at an as yet undisclosed "affordable price." The Raw Power Series offers Satin finishes in contemporary colors with maple body and fretboard. The Les Paul model has '57 Classic pickups and a mahogany neck, while the SG Raw Power sports an Ultra fast neck and dimensions tailored after the original Gibson SG '61 model.

Other highlights at the Gibson Musikmesse booth include the new Dark Fire Les Paul (Gibson's technological follow-up to the 2006 Gibson HD.6X Pro digital guitar and the 2007 Gibson Robot), the Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker, the Gary Moore BFG and the Nikki Sixx bass. The Gibson Custom display highlights the 50th Anniversary Korina Tribute Les Paul (photo below), the 1959 ES-335 Reissue, the Joe Bonamassa Les Paul guitar, the Peter Frampton Les Paul model, and the Gibson Les Paul Axcess, among others.

Gibson Acoustic's showcase at Musikmesse includes the SJ-200 Studio Modern Classic, the SJ-200 Standard Modern Classic, the J-45 Standard Modern Classic in Vintage Sunburst and Natural, the J-45 Custom Modern Classic, the Songwriter Dix Standard Modern Classic, and the Songwriter Dix Standard Cutaway Modern Classic. Among the other acoustic instruments featured at the Gibson exhibit are the J-185 Modern Classic and EC Modern Classic and the J-185 EC Rosewood Modern Classic, the Kristofferson SJ model, the Hummingbird Modern Classic model, L-00 Blues King Modern Classic, CJ-165 EC Maple and Rosewood Modern Classic models, and the Gibson Acoustic Sheryl Crow model.
