Alvarez to Introduce New Yairi Acoustic-Electric Guitar at NAMM

Acoustic guitar manufacturer, Alvarez, has announced that it will introduce a new addition to its Yairi line, the acoustic-electric WY1T, at the upcoming Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. The WY1T is a single cutaway folk-style design and features a flamed maple body (except for the black-finish model), solid Sitka spruce top with hand-scalloped braces, herringbone trim, ebony bridge and fingerboard, abalone inlays at the 12th fret and on the headstock, nickel die-cast tuning pegs and a custom Fishman Aura IC system with four different "sound images" based on vintage and contemporary studio microphones.

The WY1T, like other models in the Alvarez Yairi line, is handcrafted in limited quantities by luthier Kazuo Yairi using traditional construction methods such as hand-fitted dovetail neck joints and hand-carved ned profiles, from woods that have been naturally air dried. The model is available in three finishes: black, wine red and tobacco sunburst. Its list price is $2,699 ($1,999.99 MAP) and includes a hardshell case.
