Following London’s most exciting and vibrant summer public art exhibition of giant hand-painted Les Paul replica guitar sculptures, the Gibson GuitarTown London Charity Auction will take place at the IndigO2 at The O2 on Tuesday 20th November 2007. The charity auction is sponsored by Coutts Bank, Hard Rock and Newbridge Silver.

Gibson GuitarTown London is a charity inspired campaign bringing the power of music together with art to raise money for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, The Prince’s Trust and Teenage Cancer Trust. All money raised from the sale of the 62 guitars at the live auction will be divided equally between the three designated charities.

If you couldn’t get your hands on a pair of Led Zeppelin tickets you could however take home a giant Gibson Les Paul replica guitar designed and signed by the bands lead singer Robert Plant or how would you like a guitar signed by Paul Weller designed by Sir Peter Blake? Both these guitars and many more are now up for auction raising money for charity.

Between June 2007 to September 2007 thirty 10-foot hand-painted, free standing Gibson Les Paul replica guitars were on public display around More London on London's South Bank by City Hall, SE1. An additional 30 hand painted and signed regular sized Gibson SG guitars were publicly displayed around The O2 Arena in Greenwich. All the associated visual artists including Sir Peter Blake, Andrew Logan, Peter Saville, Anton Corbijn and the caricaturist Gerald Scarfe collaborated with many of Britain’s best known and respected musicians exclusively for the Gibson Guitartown London charity campaign. This is now your opportunity to own a piece of rock 'n' roll history.

Each individual hand-painted 10-foot Gibson Les Paul replica guitar has been personally signed by rock n’ roll legends and mainstream artists such as Sir Paul McCartney, Brian May, Robert Plant, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, Jeff Beck, KT Tunstall, Bruce Dickinson, New Order, Dirty Pretty Things, Hard-Fi, Kasabian, Hard-Fi, James Blunt, Katie Melua, Stereophonics, Mark Knopfler, Roxy Music, Gallows and The Kooks to name a few.

Each individual hand-painted Gibson SG guitar has been personally signed by musicians such as Ronnie Wood, Slash, Paul Rodgers, Roger Waters, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lemmy, Depeche Mode, The View, The Fratellis, Lost Prophets, Kaiser Chiefs and Mark Ronson to name a few.

All 62 Gibson guitars will be sold at the charity auction event to be held in IndigO2 at The O2 on Tuesday 20th November 2007. The auction hosted by Julien’s Auctions will also be streamed online via the Auction Network website and live Ebay bidding.
