Showcase Artist Deadline Extended to October 31 for the Folk Alliance's 20th International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, TN

The 20 annual international convention of the North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance (Folk Alliance) is coming to Memphis, Tennessee. Showcase artists will come from as far as Catalonia, Spain to as close as Beale Street. The conference offers a complete view of the business world of traditional and contemporary folk music and dance through showcases drawn from every possible genre of folk, as well as films, workshops, and a networking-rich tradeshow.

The business conference will be held at the Memphis Convention Center and Memphis Marriott Downtown February 20 - 24, 2008. During the conference, registrants attend panels that provide useful insight for achieving success in the field of folk music and dance. Artists will perform for promoters, booking agents, and record label representatives, mingle with radio and print media, music publishers and others who make the business of folk happen.
