Gov't Mule steamrolled the nation's capital on October 12 at a packed 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. with their unique brand of rock and sweet R&B. Along with Haynes on vocals and guitar, Mule's lineup included Matt Abts (drums), Danny Louis (keyboards) and Andy Hess (bass). The group performed a variety of tunes that ranged from its early albums to 2006's High and Mighty and featured a guest appearance by local sax master Ron Holloway.

Although tightly harnessed to his Les Paul for most of the night, Haynes also strapped on a black Gibson SG for some spot-on slide work. While the buzz often compares the group to the Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule have plowed enough rocky Southern soil to stake claim to their own well deserved music legacy.
