Press release

The hottest sweepstakes of the year is the LIVE IN LONDON sweepstakes. This mind-blowing event is presented by Guitar Center and Roland/Boss in conjunction with The Cult’s new album Born Into This releasing October 2, 2007 [New Wilderness/Roadrunner Records].

Starting September 30th customers can head into their nearest Guitar Center and enter for a chance to win a VIP trip for two to see The Cult live in London and watch from side stage. The prize package includes round trip tickets for two, hotel accommodations and $1000 dollars spending cash. And, if that wasn’t enough, Roland/Boss is hooking up the winner with a $2,500 Guitar Center shopping spree. “We’re excited to be working with Roland to be able to offer our customers this unique opportunity to see The Cult, a band that is as relevant today as they were 20 years ago,” states Darren Feldman, Director of Partnership Marketing for Guitar Center.

The Cult, led by founding members, vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, embarked on a series of European arena shows with rock legends The Who starting this past June. The band added headline dates and festival appearances along the route, building on the overwhelming reaction to their 2006 sold-out world tour. “Meeting the Cult and watching from side stage is the coolest experience a Cult fan can have,” exclaims Feldman. The Cult have a huge influential history and have built an extensive global fan base with hits such as She Sells Sanctuary, Rain, Wild Flower, Love Removal Machine, Edie, Fire Woman and Rise.

Guitar Center continues to support the strong link between musicians and the rockstars of the future by providing sweepstakes, competitions and the tools of the trade. Guitar Center is the leading United States retailer of guitars, amplifiers, percussion instruments, keyboards and pro-audio and recording equipment. The retail store subsidiary presently operates 214 Guitar Center stores across the U.S.

So mark your calendars for September 30th and jam down to the nearest Guitar Center for your chance to win the prize package that only the Rock Gods can amass. LIVE IN LONDON with The Cult and don’t forget Born Into This releasing October 2, 2007.
