Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson Signs 10-foot Les Paul for Gibson GuitarTown London

Press release

Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of the legendary British rock band Iron Maiden took time out to sign his 10-foot hand-painted Gibson Les Paul on site at the Gibson GuitarTown London charity exhibition. The free standing fiberglass guitar named “His Masters Voice 2007” was specially designed and hand-painted with acrylics by acclaimed visual artist James Holdsworth. The signed guitar features Iron Maiden's famous Eddie on the neck of the guitar along with a photo silkscreen printed image on the front. "Now, this is something which really excites me - music, big guitars and art, all in aid of charity. Top that," said Bruce Dickinson.

The unique guitar forms part of the Gibson GuitarTown London charity campaign, which can now be seen on public display around More London, South Bank, SE1 by City Hall until 12th September 2007. Following the display, Bruce Dickinson’s signed guitar and 29 other specially hand-painted 10-foot Gibson Les Paul guitars will be auctioned off to raise money for The Prince’s Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy at a gala event in November.

Iron Maiden have been on a world tour promoting their latest studio album, A Matter of Life And Death, performing in shows in the US, India, Germany, Serbia, Italy and the UK which included a headline show at this year's Download Festival. You can also hear Bruce taking over the airwaves each Friday evening hosting the Friday Rock Show on BBC 6 Radio (www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/bruce_dickinson).
