July 28, 20072007 Summer NAMM Show: Day One in Austin, Texasby Staff.
But NAMM isn't all business. Among a variety of activities scheduled during the event, the Fortune Battle of the Corporate Bands regional semi-finals will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Hang stage inside the convention center. Sponsored by NAMM and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the free event features six "Weekend Warrior" employee bands competing for the winning title before a panel of judges. Detailed information about new guitar models and related gear will filter back from the Convention Center over the next several days.
