July 27, 20072007 Summer NAMM: Peavey Unveils Online Custom Shop Guitar CustomizationPress release PeaveyCustomShop.com, the online portal where musicians can design one-of-a-kind musical instruments, will debut a revolutionary new customization tool to music-industry insiders in Austin, Texas, the Live Music Capital of the World. “With more than 16 million color options, the Peavey Custom Shop was the first musical-instrument shop to offer musicians a truly unique way to personalize their instruments,” says Hartley Peavey, founder and CEO of Peavey Electronics. “Now we’re inviting musicians deeper into the design process by creating a way for them to put any picture or graphic on their guitars.” Limited only by their imaginations, musicians will be able to personalize their Peavey guitars with any picture or graphic design by simply uploading a high-resolution image to the Peavey Custom Shop’s Custom Graphics ArtGuitar® portal. Peavey will unveil the Peavey Custom Shop 2.0 simultaneously at the annual Summer 2007 NAMM Show—held July 27-29 at the Austin Convention Center, in exhibit 1646—and online at www.peaveycustomshop.com. Peavey has designed signature product lines for artists and brands as diverse as Joe Satriani, Jack Daniel’s® and Orange County Choppers®, and the Peavey Custom Shop makes the dream of having a signature-model instrument reality for all musicians. The online shop takes musicians step-by-step through the process of designing custom Peavey guitars and basses to their own specifications, and is the only online guitar shop that offers a custom color palette where users can dial in their exact custom color.
Peavey first revolutionized guitar making in the 1970s with the T-60™, the first guitar made using CNC computer-controlled machinery. The T-60 bridged the gap between the vintage and modern eras in guitar making, and nearly three decades later the musical instrument and sound equipment giant's guitar manufacturing innovations have become industry standards. Peavey Custom Shop musical instruments are crafted by seasoned luthiers in Mississippi, the Birthplace of American Music. The Peavey Custom Shop is now live at www.peaveycustomshop.com. To watch a video tour of the Peavey Custom Shop guided by Hartley Peavey, founder and sole owner of Peavey, visit www.peavey.com/corp/history/index.cfm. Founded in 1965, Peavey® is one of the world's largest manufacturers of musical instruments and professional sound equipment. Peavey has earned more than 180 patents and produces more than 2,000 products, which are distributed throughout the United States and to 136 other countries. Peavey and its MediaMatrix®, Architectural Acoustics®, PVDJ®, Crest Audio® and Trace Elliot® brands and affiliates can be found on concert stages and in more than 5,000 airports, stadiums, theme parks and other venues around the world.
