Fender to Spotlight Several Guitars at 2007 Summer NAMM

by Staff.

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (Fender) has announced that it will spotlight several guitars at the 2007 Summer NAMM Show that opens tomorrow in Austin, Texas, and runs through Sunday, July 29. The featured instruments include a Limited Edition John Mayer Stratocaster, a Joe Strummer Telecaster, a Jim Root Telecaster, the J Mascis Jazzmaster, and the VG Stratocaster. A limited edition Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival Stratocaster, also known as the Sun Strat, will also be on display at Fender's booth.

Limited Edition John Mayer Stratocaster

Limited Edition John Mayer Stratocaster* Grammy winner and Fender signature artist John Mayer has again teamed up with Fender, this time for a limited run Strat, pairing a custom John Mayer Incase tour bag with a matching guitar in a new Cypress Mica finish. This guitar will be limited to 500 guitars for 2007 only.
U.S. MSRP: $2,142.84

Joe Strummer Telecaster

Joe Strummer Telecaster* As the leader of the Clash, he sang, shouted and spat socially conscious lyrics with a fervid intensity punctuated by slashing, smashing controlled staccato bursts of fire from a low-slung Telecaster he cradled more like a weapon than a guitar. This Tele has a distinct heavily road-worn finish and fits like an old pair of jeans. The first 1,500 guitars will also include a DIY stencil and sticker customization kit in a custom 12” album cover featuring art from OBEY’s Shepard Fairey.
U.S. MSRP $1,285.71

J Mascis Jazzmaster

J Mascis Jazzmaster* From Dinosaur Jr. to the Fog, J Mascis and his energetic lead guitar style took the Jazzmaster to a new place and introduced the guitar to a new generation. In addition to its stunning looks, this guitar has many player-centric modifications as requested by Mascis himself.
U.S. MSRP $1,199.99

Jim Root Telecaster

Jim Root Telecaster* As lead guitarist for Slipknot and Stone Sour, Jim Root is one of today’s leading heavy guitarists. This Tele was a labor of love for both artist and Fender, combining several unique features to give it an identity all its own.
U.S. MSRP $1,285.71

VG Stratocaster

VG Stratocaster* Fender has teamed up with Roland® to create an iconic electric guitar that can do it all. The revolutionary and award winning VG Stratocaster guitar incorporates DSP technology on an American Series Stratocaster, allowing for an amazing array of 16 tones and 5 alternate tunings. All the sounds are serious, usable Fender tones (Strat®, Tele®, humbucking and acoustic banks) and the amazing tuning feature allows you to glide from standard to alternate tunings at the turn of a knob.
U.S. MSRP $2,428.56
