Bill Murray, Robbie Robertson, and Johnny Winter Added to Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival Concert

Press release

The just-announced additions of Robbie Robertson, Johnny Winter and event host Bill Murray have just made this historic event even more memorable for those fans lucky enough to attend this sold out show.

As previously released, the Festival will now also feature a Guitar Village. The Village will be comprised of interactive guitar exhibits, hands-on demonstrations and classic guitars on display. In a rare historic showing, three of the world’s most infamous originals – Eric Clapton’s “Blackie,” his Gibson “335” guitar and Clapton/Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Lenny” will be showcased thanks to the efforts of Guitar Center which will be ensuring that the renowned guitars, purchased in 2004 with $2.4 million dollar charity donation to The Crossroads Centre, make it safely to their destination. In addition, fans can get the first glimpse of the brand-new Fender limited edition “Eric Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster”. Designed by Clapton himself, Fender will make only 100 of the custom pieces for sale, with all money going to the Crossroads Centre, Antigua. These exhibits, plus other participants including Ernie Ball and Harman Music’s DigiTech/DigiTruck, will be open to the public in the concourse starting at 9:00 a.m.

Please note the following information to help you plan for your day:

8:00am Parking Lots Open
9:00am Stadium Gates Open to the Concourse and The Festival Village
9:30am Seating Area Open
11:45am Event Host Bill Murray will welcome the crowd
12:00pm At Noon Eric Clapton will take the stage and introduce the event’s first performance by Sonny Landreth

A significant number of tickets, just released by the festival’s production team, will now be available for this previously sold-out event. These tickets can be purchased beginning Friday, July 20th at 4:00pm at the Toyota Park box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 312-559-1212.
