New York’s Top Australian Bands Headline First Annual “AusFest”

Press release

Australian natives Second Dan, Tamarama, and The Kin have signed up to headline AusFest, a live concert featuring the best of Down Under’s indie rock scene on July 18th at The Delancey in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

The idea for AusFest came from Sydney-based brewers Scott Garnet and Richard Adamson, who wanted to combine the U.S. launch of their premium craft beer brand, Barons of Australia, with their love of music. As part of the international DJ troupe Kalide, Adamson’s talent for moving international beats became the driving force to give New York based Aussie bands a spotlight in the mainstream music scene.

Sponsored by Barons, AusFest rockers Second Dan, Tamarama and The Kin will take over The Delancey on July 18th for a night of tantric tunes and free flowing beer. For the bands, it’s an exciting event that will give New Yorkers a proper introduction to influencers from Down Under.

According to The Kin’s Isaac Koren, “There is a huge community of Australian artists thriving in NYC. Some call it the ‘Creative Diaspora’, some call it the ‘Aussie mafia’, some just call it Mulberry Street! Whatever you call it, we are proud to be representing ‘the Lucky Country’ 20,000 miles away from home.”

Second Dan lead singer Dan Rosen concurs, “AusFest is an exciting opportunity for Australian indie rock bands to get exposure in the U.S. market.”

The AusFest venue of choice is the perfect place for a summer jam session. In addition to bands and beer, The Delancey will be serving up Aussie treats - from meat pies to shrimp on the barbe - on their stunning roof deck overlooking the Williamsburg Bridge.

The Delancey is located at 168 Delancey Street, between Clinton & Attorney.
