Pink Floyd's Nick Mason Signs Gibson SG Guitar for Charity

by Staff.

Legendary Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason is pictured below with a specially designed Gibson SG guitar which is part of the Gibson GuitarTown London charity campaign. The guitar, specially designed by visual artist Justine Smith and titled Shine On, was signed by Nick Mason before being displayed publicly at The O2 (formally the Millennium Dome in Greenwich) from June 25 for ten weeks. The guitar is covered in real 50 Pound notes and is one of thirty on display at The O2 that will go under the hammer at an auction event in October, 2007, where all proceeds will be split equally between The Prince’s Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

Nick Mason is the only band member to have remained with Pink Floyd since its inception in 1965. He has played on every Pink Floyd album since 1967.
