Fender Artist Design Series Buddy Miller Signature Acoustic Guitar

Fender Artist Design Series Buddy Miller Signature Acoustic Guitar

Legendary Americana and Grammy®-nominated artist, Buddy Miller, teamed up with Fender® to create a signature acoustic that blends traditional acoustic tones with modern electric playability.

The Artist Design Series Buddy Miller Signature Acoustic model is a pro-level, nitrocellulose-lacquered slope-shoulder dreadnought guitar. It offers several traditional tones courtesy of its solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides and Fishman® Ellipse Aura system, which allows the player to blend four onboard mic sounds and the below-saddle pickup. Perhaps its most unique and recognizable feature is its custom neck, which features a thinner—more “electric” feeling—profile, a Stratocaster® guitar headstock and checkerboard binding (with matching rosette).

“When I thought about what I wanted in an acoustic guitar, I wanted both a great recording and live guitar with a warm woody sound that sits as nicely in a sound system as in a record mix,” said Miller. “I wanted a familiar comfortable neck that would make me want to reach for it, and I wanted a nitrocellulose finish so the guitar could breathe and have a natural look, sound and feel as it aged.

“The Aura pickup system is the most natural sounding I have heard, and we captured some of the included Aura settings at my studio with my mics and preamps. I always dug the Fender six-on-a-side tuners, and remember seeing Tex Ritter, Johnny Cash, Norma Jean and so many other artists playing their ’60s and ’70s Fender acoustics. We added some Webb Pierce-inspired checkerboard binding for good measure.”

Buddy Miller, who throughout the years has made a name for himself as a guitarist, songwriter, recording artist, sideman, producer and engineer, was born in Ohio and moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music. Over the years, he has recorded with Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, Trisha Yearwood and Steve Earle. Some of the notable artists to cover his songs include: Lee Ann Womack, Brooks & Dunn and the Dixie Chicks.

The Artist Design Series Buddy Miller Signature Acoustic model is crafted in Fender’s Ensenada, Mexico facility, and is available in Natural at Fender dealers worldwide with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $1,714.27.
