Tone Center Records Salutes Jeff Beck with Various Artist CD

Tone Center Records, part of the Shrapnel Label Group, will release the next entry in its series of CDs that recognize major jazz and fusion artists with the July 17, 2007, release of Freeway Jam to Beck and Back featuring ten tracks of tunes associated with Jeff Beck performed by ten different guitarists: "Freeway Jam" (Steve Morse); "Over Under Sideways Down" (John Scofield); "Beck's Bolero" (Eric Johnson); "Led Boots" (Adam Rogers); "El Becko" (Jeff Richman); "Diamond Dust" (Mike Stern); "The Pump" (Warren Haynes); "Behind the Veil" (Chris Duarte); "Blue Wind" (Greg Howe); and, "Brush with The Blues" (Walter Trout). As with the other CDs in the series, Freeway Jam was produced by Shrapnel head Mike Varney and guitarist Jeff Richman (who also arranged the ten tracks).

A gifted composer and phenomenal guitarist, Jeff Beck has created an incredible catalog of memorable compositions in the genres of rock, blues and rock/fusion and has earned a worldwide reputation for utilizing only the finest musicians in his band. During his long career, Beck, whose fan base stems from his legendary recordings with The Yardbirds and The Jeff Beck Group to his solo work, developed an ideal combination of savvy songwriting and soulful guitar playing. Beck is revered in global musician circles and is a respected as a classic rock artist.

The rhythm section on Freeway Jam to Beck and Back consists of Vinnie Colaiuta and Simon Phillips on drums, Stu Hamm on bass, and Mitchel Forman, keyboards.
