It's a "GO" for Guitarist Daryl Stuermer and Godin Guitars

With eight previous solo albums under his belt, guitarist Daryl Stuermer has recently released his latest CD entitled GO on InsideOut Music. The Milwaukee WI born Stuermer has had an illustrious career that most musicians could only dream of. Since 1980 he has been a crucial member of U.K. supergroup Genesis’ live performances and has toured with them around the world. He has also performed live and in studio, as well as co-written alongside Phil Collins, while also contributing to the other solo works by Genesis’ Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford. Genesis begins a European tour starting in June and then heads to North America in September 2007.

Produced and engineered by Daryl Stuermer, his latest release GO, offers up an edgier, more riff-oriented album. “There are only 2 ballads on GO but even they are seething with an underlying energy,” says Stuermer, who also adds, “on GO I let things roll a little more than in the past, as I wanted to reach new shores.”

Released on April 24th to critical acclaim, GO had Stuermer working with some A-list players and long-time collaborators including associate producer Gary Tanin, John Calarco (drums), Eric Hervey (bass), Kostia (keyboards), as well as Leland Sklar (bass) who he also played with in Phil Collins’ band.

While on the road and in studio recording his new album, Daryl Stuermer turned to the powerhouse of tone and versatility of his Godin LGXT. This 3-voice guitar allows for a world of sonic possibilities through a 13-pin output, as well as acoustic and its main electric sounds. “The LGXT gives me more options in sound than any other guitar I’ve ever owned and it’s a dream to play,” says Stuermer of his main axe, which is featured on the cover and in the music of his latest album.
