Lenny, Blackie, Martin, and 335 Up Close and Personal

On June 24, 2004, David Belzer and Drew Berlin, also known as the Burst Brothers, bought four famous guitars on behalf of their employer, the Guitar Center chain, at the Christie's Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Auction (2004 story). Three of these instruments, Stevie Ray Vaughan's Lenny Stratocaster (photo), Eric Clapton's Blackie Strat, and Clapton's Cream-era Gibson ES-335, were on display at the recent Dallas International Guitar Festival where the Burst Brothers spoke with Modern Guitars correspondent Lynne Margolis (interview) about the Crossroads Auction experience. In support of the interview, Guitar Center has supplied images of the four guitars (Lenny, Blackie, Martin, ES-335) by photographer Robert M. Knight that will be of interest to both collectors and enthusiasts.
