On Monday, April 16, 2007, a variety of items from the upcoming (April 21) Icons of Music Auction will be available for public viewing at the Hard Rock Cafe Times Square in NYC. Several highlights from the auction will be presented, including: Edge’s 1975 Gibson Les Paul ($60,000/80,000), Bono’s Armani Sunglasses ($2,000/4,000) Larry Mullen Jr’s Concert Used Tom Tom ($8,000/10,000), Adam Clayton Concert Used Bass Guitar ($20,000/30,000), Elvis Presley recording contract ($3,000/5,000), Rare Beatles Record Award Presented to The Beatles for “She Love’s You” ($6,000/8,000), Janis Joplin handwritten 7 page love letter to boyfriend ($1,000/2,000), Kurt Cobain Signed Guitar Equipment Receipt ($1,000/2,000), Madonna Pants from Sex Book ($600/800), The preview will also include Bono’s jacket ($4,000-6,000) and other items from the world’s greatest musicians.

The pre-auction exhibition will be open to the public daily from April 16 through April 20 at the Hard Rock Cafe Times Square in New York City (1501 Broadway). The Icons of Music Auction takes place on April 21, 2007, at 6 p.m. EST, preceeded by enteratinment beginning at 5 p.m., at the same location.

The auction event will offer one of the most significant collections of music memorabilia from many of music’s greatest legends with proceeds benefiting Music Rising (www.musicrising.org), a campaign co-founded by The Edge, producer Bob Ezrin and Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz in 2005 to aid musicians of the Gulf Coast Region in regaining their livelihood after the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The live and online auction, hosted by Julien’s Auctions (www.juliensauctions.com), will be offering approximately 200 pieces of music memorabilia, much of which has been specifically donated for this cause.
