April, International Guitar Month, Sees Release of Thai Royal CD

Asia Music International (AMI) has announced the release of a new album, Sweet Words, featuring the classical guitar work of Hucky Eichelmann (photo) performing compositions by Bhumibol Adulyadej, better known as His Majesty, King of Thailand, a title Adulyadej has held since 1946, which, according to Wikipedia, makes him "the world's longest-serving current head of state and the longest-serving monarch in Thai history." The 11 compositions were arranged for acoustic guitar by Sophon Juntaramittree, Kate Arun Lertpipattana, Richard Harvey, and Bernard Sumner. Eichelmann's performance was recorded at the Saint Cyriak monastery in Germany's Black Forest, by Andreas Spreer for the Tacet label. Press release »
