PRS Guitars Singlecut

Paul Reed Smith Guitars is again the recipient of a Musikmesse International Press Award (mipa). The PRS Singlecut model was the winner of the “Best Electric Guitar of the Year” category. Comprised of a voting panel of editors and journalists from more than 100 publications worldwide, mipa presents manufacturers with awards considered by many in the industry to be the "Grammy” of the musical instrument/pro audio industry, and PRS Guitars has won this award for the past three consecutive years.

The awards were presented to the winners at the annual mipa-Party/Awards-Ceremony held on March 29, 2007, in Frankfurt, Germany. mipa has honored esteemed musical instrument and equipment manufacturers for eight years and included more than forty different categories in 2007. PRS has been nominated as one of three contenders in the electric guitar category every year since the mipa award was created in 2000 and has received the “Best Electric Guitar of the Year” accolade six times, another feat that has never been accomplished by any other guitar manufacturer. Past PRS model winners include the PRS Singlecut in 2000, the Santana SE in 2002, the Santana II in 2003 and the 513 in 2005 and 2006.

“I would like to thank all participating magazines from around the world for their continuing support and confidence in us,” says Peter Wolf, Director of Sales and Marketing at PRS Guitars. “We are honored to be this well received year after year.”

For 2007, PRS has updated the Singlecut model which is now offered as two unique models, the SC 250 and the SC 245. The new SC 250 comes with 250 Pickups, a thick headstock, adjustable PRS Stoptail, Phase II locking mini tuners, comes set up with .010 gauge strings and has an optional satin finish. These changes provide for thicker sound, power and more sustain for players looking for a more modern “rock” sound. The SC 245 appeals to those players looking for a more vintage look, sound and feel. This Singlecut model features a 24.5” scale length, a thin headstock, a non-adjustable stoptail and vintage style tuning pegs. Also featured are 245 Treble and Bass Pickups with scuffed nickel covers.
