Gibson Foundation, the philanthropic division of Gibson Guitar has announced its sponsorship of opening night Teenage Cancer Trust concert which is being headlined by the legendary Noel Gallagher. Noel will be supported by one of the UK ’s hottest new bands The View. The week long series of concerts are in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and held at London ’s Royal Albert Hall.

Now in its seventh year, the concert series was the brainchild of The Who’s Roger Daltrey CBE , patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust, who has once again assembled the best British talent available across rock, pop and comedy to give up their time to raise money for the charity.

Announcing this year’s line-up, Roger Daltrey said: “Over the years these shows have really made a massive difference to the money available to build TCT units in National Health Service hospitals. They also give our teenagers the moral support to help fight this terrible disease”.

Roger Daltrey has worked tirelessly with the shows' co-producer, Harvey Goldsmith CBE , to ensure that every line up lived up to the standards that were set from the very first year. Those who have appeared in previous years include Oasis, Coldplay, Paul Weller, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Eric Clapton, The Cure, Madness, The Stereophonics, Keane, Razorlight, Franz Ferdinand, Jools Holland and Tom Jones.

“The Gibson Foundation is proud to be sponsoring the opening evening of the Teenage Cancer Trust’s week long set of concerts at The Royal Albert Hall. I hope the charity and music fans enjoy an exciting and successful week,” says Henry Juszkiewicz Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar

The aim of the shows is to raise funds for desperately needed teenage cancer units. These units, which are all built in NHS hospitals, are improving survival rates for teenagers with cancer by an estimated 15%. There are currently seven TCT units. Each cost over 2 million pounds to build and another fifteen are needed to ensure every teenager with cancer can have access to one. Over the past seven years the series of shows have led directly to the development of three major Teenage Cancer Trust units across the country.
