Gibson Foundation Announces International Support to WaterAid America

Press release
Source: Rogers & Cowan

Gibson Foundation, the philanthropic division of the Gibson Guitar Corp., announced today its five-year commitment to support WaterAid, an international non-profit organization whose mission is to overcome poverty by working with people in the world’s poorest countries to improve access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.  More than 1 billion people live without safe water and 5,000 children die everyday from preventable water-related diseases.

Gibson Foundation will support WaterAid in its efforts to bring safe water, effective sanitation and hygiene education to Oju and Obi, two of the poorest regions of the Benue State, itself one of the most impoverished states in Nigeria. This project is part of a multi-year commitment to the region by Gibson Foundation and WaterAid.

“WaterAid is very grateful to receive this generous support from Gibson Foundation.  Their willingness to make a multi-year commitment helps WaterAid work with its local partners and communities to develop lasting solutions that will make a tangible difference in the health and livelihoods of thousands in these impoverished communities,” said Patricia Dandonoli, President and CEO of WaterAid America.

”The Gibson Foundation focuses on enriching the lives of children around the world and supports several initiatives who provide better living opportunities and resources,” said Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar. “WaterAid is an extension of the many things we aim to support internationally in the hopes that we can make a difference in children’s lives and help better their overall health and well-being.”
