The Handle

The Handle

Calling all musicians, collectors, and high-tech lovers! Confirming its place in design history, the Handle guitar has been awarded the ‘Good Design’ Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum, and as if this wasn’t enough, has been selected by the ADI Design Index.

The most awaited and revolutionary electric guitar of the 21st Century is being brought to the market as the flagship product of the new company XOX Audio Tools. For those who must be one of the first to have one of these innovative products, here is your chance. Beginning in February 2007, the first 100 Handle guitars will be reservable exclusively on the site www.xoxaudiotools.com. As worthy of any important work of art, the initial production will be numbered and limited. Delivery of the first guitars will begin in late March following the reservation order. Only after the first 100 privileged owners have all received their dream guitar will the Handle be supplied to stores worldwide.

Conceived as a single body of carbon fiber from which superfluous material has been removed, the form of the Handle plays with the contrast between positive and negative space, organic and dynamic lines, while its silhouette recalls familiarity of traditional electric guitars. It was created by the award-winning designer Peter Solomon who transformed every detail of this instrument by combining a striking formal identity with cutting edge technology. The end result is a sophisticated slim instrument teeming with high-impact modernity.

Its mono-chassis, hollow sectioned construction favors direct transmission of acoustic vibrations and creates a resonance chamber similar to that of a semi-acoustic guitar. The Handle is made from carbon fiber, developed for the aerospace industry, and used in F1 race cars. This ultra lightweight material is incredibly resistant, it won’t bend or deform under high temperatures or humidity. Surprisingly, carbon fiber offers a much wider harmonic range than wood.

Taking inspiration from musician’s needs, the handle was designed for speed and comfort. Its concave form, thin profile, slim neck for all 24 frets, and light weight offer a truly pleasing experience to anyone who plays it. The ease that you grab and carry it gave it its name: the Handle. Destined to transform the face of music.
