Hallmark Guitars Announces Corvette USA Model

Hallmark Limited Edition Corvette USA

Hallmark Limited Edition Corvette USA

Hallmark Guitars has announced the Limited Edition Corvette USA model, a handbuilt in the USA limited run guitar by master luthier Bill Gruggett.

Bob Shade, President of Hallmark Guitars, says, "Bill started building his own electric guitars in the late '50s. He also handbuilt guitars for the legendary Semie Moseley, founder of Mosrite Guitars that included the classic 1963 bound side-jack Mosrite Ventures models. Bill wound up managing Mosrite during the '60s in the heyday of the company."

Why a Gruggett guitar? One Gruggett guitar owner exlaims, "I would rather have this guitar than a handful of diamonds!"

The woods used for the Corvette Limiteds are seasoned exotic hardwoods that have been in storage for over 30 years. The model features a hand-carved maple top and back with a chambered body, Bolivian rosewood fingerboard, custom wound pickups using vintage cast alnico magnets, exclusive custom bearing vibrato and solid chrome plated brass roller bridge for maximum comfort and performance.

Shade added, "The pickups are hand-wound hot the old fashioned way and each has its own pickup cover made out of the same 30-year-old wood from the bookmatched flame maple tops!"

The Gruggett made Corvette USA Ltd shown below is number four in the series and number five just became availalbe for purchase. This axe is built by someone who knows how to make guitars and has over 50 years experience in the guitar building profession. Bill will also make a brass rail model in which a solid brass rod goes through the neck to add not only a beautiful look but some incredible sustain.

The Corvette USA Ltd. is available from Hallmark Guitars and starts at $3,500, including a USA built hardshell case. Gruggett will also apply custom finishes, as well as install gold hardware at additional cost.
