Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy is gearing up to hit the road as this year’s Honda Civic Tour headliner. The band will kick off the Honda Civic Tour in support of their new album Infinity On High on April 18th at the Verizon Amphitheater in Charlotte, NC, making stops in over 40 cities along the way. The band will play a special performance in The Honda Center in Anaheim, CA and end the tour for all of their local fans in Chicago.

Over the past seven years the Honda Civic Tour has been the hottest ticket in town and this year is no exception. The Honda Civic Tour has hit the fast-lane with Fall Out Boy’s unpredictable, super-charged, stage show, guaranteed to bring both loyal and new fans to their feet.

Supporting Fall Out Boy will be Plus Forty Four (+44), the band created by former blink-182 members Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus, also past Honda Civic Tour headliners. Joining the bands at each stop on the tour will be support acts The Academy Is, Paul Wall and Cobra Starship.

“We designed our tour to have tickets as cheap as possible and have as much floor space as possible which we weren’t able to do that in the past. With our partnership with Honda we’ve been able to create something that’s cool, and stay really tight with our fan base,” said Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy.

As part of the partnership, Fall Out Boy created and designed special custom features for a Honda Civic Hybrid which will be displayed on tour with the band and showcased at each venue.  Throughout the tour, fans will have the opportunity to enter to win this customized, one-of-a-kind car which has been autographed by the band making it the ultimate moveable memorabilia.  The vehicle was unveiled during the announcement and special performance that took place for selected Honda associates at their Torrance, CA campus earlier this month.

Pete adds, “I think one of the coolest things on the Honda Civic Tour is that we created these customized cars, and to be able to give away a customized Honda Civic Hybrid to our fans is really insanely huge —if we had been able to get that from a band, I think we would have freaked out.”

Honda Civic Tour general on-sale begins February 17th in select cities. However, beginning Tuesday, February 6th, fans that purchase the Tour Edition of Fall Out Boy’s new album,Infinity On High, at Target stores nationwide will also receive a code for exclusive pre-sale access to purchase their tickets. Fans will be able to enter their code and purchase up to 4 tickets during the pre-sale by visiting www.hondacivictour.com. Beginning February 14th, those fans that haven’t purchased their album at Target stores will still have a chance to scoop up pre-sale tickets by visiting www.hondacivictour.com to register.

With roots in Chicago’s hardcore scene, Fall Out Boy formed in 2000 (Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman, Andy Hurley and Pete Wentz), building their loyal fan base online and on tour before releasing their debut record, Take This to Your Grave. In spring 2005 they followed up with their first major-label release, From Under the Cork Tree, which sold more than 3 million copies worldwide and earned them a Grammy nomination in the competitive “Best New Artist” category and two MTV VMA awards. Fall Out Boy’s latest album Infinity On High, with its fresh and innovative sound, is certain to be more successful than the last. Since headlining their first major-market North American arena tour in spring 2006, they have appeared on the covers of Spin, Blender and Alternative Press and have performed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live and more.  For more information on Fall Out Boy visit www.falloutboyrock.com.
