Auction Results: Clapton, Page, and Townshend Guitars

On January 15, 2007, a 1982 Roland G-505 Synthesizer guitar (photo) once owned by Eric Clapton went for $36,000 USD at the Rock 'n' Roll / Hollywood Auction presented by the London-based Cooper Owen auction house in association with Barrett-Jackson of Scottsdale, Arizona. This is the same instrument that was sold in the 1999 Clapton Crossroads auction at Christie's for $29,000 USD. Other results from the January 15 auction include: a Jimmy Page used and signed Stratocaster ($10,000 USD); a Pete Townshend Les Paul Deluxe ($22,500); and, an acoustic guitar used by the Quarrymen, the first incarnation of the Beatles ($15,000 USD).
