Another Grammy Nomination for David Starobin

Bridge Records has been honored with four Grammy nominations in 2007. Two of the nominations focus around composer Peter Lieberson, 'Best Classical Album' and his wife, the late mezzo-soprano Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, 'Best Vocal Recording'. The other two honor baritone Patrick Mason, 'Best Vocal Recording', for his "Songs of Amy Beach"; and 98 year-old composer Elliott Carter, 'Best Contemporary Composition', for his "Boston Concerto", from Bridge's Elliott Carter Edition, Vol. 7, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Oliver Knussen, conductor.

Bridge's Lieberson disc has already been honored with Gramophone/WQXR's 2006 'American Music Award', and has been the subject of national broadcasts on NPR and the BBC. The 'Best Classical Album' Grammy is given to a producer, and David Starobin has been nominated for his production of the Lieberson disc. Starobin has been Grammy-nominated in the past (1999, 2006), for his performances as a guitarist and mandolinist. As both a recording producer and Bridge's executive producer, Starobin and his partner Becky Starobin have received sixteen Grammy nominations, including the 2001 Grammy-winning 'George Crumb: Star-Child.'.
