Michelle Shocked

Nine classic Michelle Shocked albums have just become available as iTunes downloads. The Texas Campfire Tapes, Short Sharp Shocked, Captain Swing; Arkansas Traveler, Kind Hearted Woman (not currently available via traditional music retail), Deep Natural, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, Got No Strings and Mexican Standoff. There is also an exclusive live EP called (what else) Live EP, released by PolyGram as a promo during the Captain Swing tour and featuring Pete Anderson’s band, previously only available as a promotional item, are now available for legal download.

Look for a forthcoming iTunes Essentials package to compliment this digital launch…

Michelle is readying an album of all new material that will be released in August. Between now and then, she is at work on a Mardi Gras single in early February. She will be performing solo/acoustic later that month at The North American Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis. In March, she will debut a few new songs with a band at the SXSW Music & Media Conference in Austin as well as  solo/acoustic sets at Tin Pan South in Nashville. In May, she will be part of a high profile album to benefit the Homeless. Talks are also underway to release her Austin City Limits performance on DVD in June.

Following the release of a new album and a career-to-date-spanning songbook — both slated for late summer release  with details to follow shortly — Michelle will embark on a comprehensive tour of the U.S.

Visit her myspace page to hear new song demos and to be kept up to date on touring activities: www.myspace.com/mshocked.

Fans may visit quality brick-and-mortar music retailers or www.MichelleShocked.com to purchase physical copies of her albums. All feature bonus discs (with the exception of Kind Hearted Woman which is still available in limited quantities as a single disc set, which will be expanded upon later this year.)
