If you've been reluctant to take the guitar-to-computer plunge, a recently introduced offering from Behringer, the iAXE393 USB-Guitar, could help relieve the pressure, at least on your wallet. The iAXE is a fully functional analog electric guitar with three single coil pickups and a traditional 1/4" amp connector with two additional features: a USB guitar-to-computer connection and a separate onboard headphone jack. The USB connection allows the player to use a number of software amp and effects modeling packages and multi-track recording. The guitar is sold with a companion CD that includes amp modeling from Native Instruments, a 16-track recorder from Kristal, and Audacity editing software.
