Jamie Foxx Winter Tour Kicks-off December 26, 2007

J Records recording artist Jamie Foxx has unveiled plans to hit the road on what is sure to be one of the hottest tickets this winter.  The North American trek will see the GRAMMY nominated multi-platinum superstar entertaining audiences with a unique blend of music and stand-up comedy. The 19 city tour is slated to kick off on December 26th, 2006 at the San Diego Civic Theater in San Diego, CA.

A classically trained pianist who was raised in the church, Foxx studied at the San Diego Performing Arts College before first coming to fame as a comedian. After spending time on the comedy circuit and on shows such as In Living Color and The Jamie Foxx Show, Foxx’s big screen break came when he was cast in the Oliver Stone film Any Given Sunday. His 2005 Oscar-winning performance in Ray was a major indication that Foxx’s musical aspirations could not be held back.

Foxx re-ignites his first passion with his GRAMMY nominated multi-platinum debut album, Unpredictable. Topping the charts in late December 2005 and early 2006, Unpredictable held the #1 spot for five weeks and sold more than one million units in 20 days. His NBC special Unpredictable was a creative live performance of his album, featuring Foxx and an all-star line-up of such artists as Mary J. Blige, Common, Snoop Dogg, The Game, and Angie Stone.

Foxx has followed up his 2004 and 2005 GRAMMY nominations that he received for his work on fellow artists’ albums with three GRAMMY nominations this year for his debut solo album Unpredictable and won the 2006 American Music Award for Favorite Male Soul R&B Artist.

Joining Foxx on some of his tour dates will be multi-platinum recording artist Fantasia who recently released her new self-titled album following the success of her multi platinum GRAMMY nominated album Free Yourself.
