Caught in the Act: Anne McCue at the Birchmere

Aussie singer-songwriter-guitarist Anne McCue traveled a few miles to the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia, where her voice and guitars romanced the crowd. Starting with some basic chord arrangements, she warmed up then tossed out some well executed guitar work on her song "Hangman".

She went acoustic with "Bright Lights" and traded licks with her keyboardist on a cover of "As the Crow Flies". She ended her set playing some laptop slide guitar and proved this lady from Down Under is willing to explore a bit and not settle into standard six-string mode. I expect to hear more about McCue as she continues to grow as an artist and when her new CD, Koala Motel, gets some airplay.
