Fretlight FG-401

Fretlight FG-401

Optek Music Systems, Inc., a leading company dedicated to the development of interactive musical instruments and software, today announced their new Acoustic guitar, the Fretlight FG-401. Ideal for beginning guitar players, the FG-401 is a compact and lightweight Acoustic guitar that has something no other Acoustic guitar has-an on-board learning system. The FG-401's advanced polymer fretboard features a series of embedded software-driven LED lights, which signify where the user's fingers should be placed so that one can easily learn chords, scales and songs.

Now the fourth guitar in the company's line of Fretlight guitars, the lightweight, compact and easily portable FG-401 fits snuggly into your body for hours of comfortable playing. The Tele-style body is formed with mahogany sides and neck and a spruce wood top and back giving you rich, yet subtle tones. X bracing compliments the traditional look and the patented Fretlight neck and companion software provides the tools that one needs to quickly and easily improve their playing.

Optek Music Systems Fretlight guitars enable beginner, intermediate, and advanced guitarists to advance their guitar playing. Connected via the USB port of a computer and driven by a selection of educational software titles,
the Fretlight guitars allow users to learn, memorize, and play a wide variety of rhythm and lead guitar styles. Available software titles include M-Player MIDI software player for learning favorites songs quickly and easily, Guitarz 6.5 for editing and playing tablature files and Improviser for playing guitar leads. Every Fretlight guitar ships free with a USB cable for PC or Mac connectivity, a CD-ROM that includes Guitar Power software and the Fretlight Lesson Player, which includes 30 beginner lessons and a Getting Started with Your Fretlight 40 minute DVD.

"Many of us learned on an acoustic guitar when we had hours and hours to practice, a time when there was no Internet, cable TV, or video games. People these days just don't have the time and that's where Fretlight can help," said Rusty Shaffer, President & CEO of Optek Music Systems, Inc. "With our Fretlight guitars it is our mission to help foster a new generation of guitar players that can achieve their dreams in a fraction of the time."

The Fretlight FG-401 is available for purchase immediately. MSRP is $429.95.
